Investrix 2011!!

As a part of SIMSR legacy, we had a one day financial event ‘Investrix’ on 18th February, 2011. The event was a huge success with tremendous response from students and industry interface. The day was divided in two sessions. In morning session two eminent guests from industry were invited to share their views on current financial topic. Mr. Prakash Shah (Advocate of practising SEBI law and secretary of investor education society shared his experience on SEBI rules and regulation.








Our second guest, Mr. Prakash kamat (Vice President, Geojit BNP Paribas financial services ltd) enlightened us on various topics including early age financial planning and risk management. It was a healthy discussion with students getting real life examples on what they are learning in theory.
Afternoon session we had a portfolio management competition for SIMSR 2nd year students. They need to devise a strategy for long term and short term investment. We were honoured to have Mr. N.L. Bhatia (Chairman, Investor education association) and Mr. Ramaswamy (Financial Consultant). All the groups presented their strategies to judges. All participants had to face long round of gruelling questions by judges and judges were extremely happy about the quality of ideas. Students were evaluated on the basis of their understanding and application of concepts they learn. Competition was so severe and all the teams scored well. Students got benefited by the knowledge and views shared by our knowledgeable judges.
Dr. Trivedi presented the concluding words. Overall event was a great success with all the students got benefited by the expert thoughts.
