It has been quite an auspicious beginning to this academic session at SIMSR with our 1st year students competing with top institutes across the country to win us laurels. In the recently concluded “MARQUEPEDIA 2010” hosted by IMT Nagpur at their campus on the 28th and 29th August, 2010, Sankalp Chugh and Abhishek Dwivedi have won the 1st prize for creating a marketing plan for Convergys, the IT giant’s BPO wing.
It was a marketing plan event concentrated on brand building, coupled with Guest Lectures by corporates from esteemed organisations like Pidilite, Nelson, Yash Raj Films and Harsha Publications, who also judged the event. Participants were given the option of drafting a marketing plan for Convergys, or promote the social message of gender equality. 2-membered teams were invited to participate and send in an online synopsis. Out of the 100 odd teams that sent in their entries, 9 were short-listed for the second round.
For the finals, participants were required to present their B-Plan to the judges, within a stipulated time limit. Sankalp Chugh and Abhishek Dwivedi, who presented on the brand building of Convergys via recruitment advertisements and ultimately won because of the in depth research that went into the marketing plan, and the radio ad prepared by them, for which they were assisted by Pramit Pratim Ghosh and Prabhat Singh, also 1st year students.
